I was driving down the road a few weeks ago when some young guy ran a stop sign and plowed right into me. I was going slow, but he was speeding. I spent a night in the hospital for observation, and they told me when I was released that I should follow up with my primary care physician. They also suggested that I see a chiropractor in Redding CA because accident victims sometimes do not feel the brunt of their injuries until days or even weeks after the accident has happened.
I was already hurting, so that was not something I wanted to hear. I thought that I was already going through the worst of it, so I decided to take their advice right away and contact a local chiropractor. If there was any way to start fighting against additional pain that could come, then I wanted to make sure and get a treatment plan started right away. I did see my personal doctor first, because I wanted to make sure that he was on board with this too. When he told me that he goes to a chiropractor at least once every few months, I knew that I was making the right decision to see one myself.
I was able to get in the same day that I saw my main doctor. They went over my medical history and the auto accident information with me, then I had to do a range of motion test as part of the physical examination. I didn’t realize that I had such limited range until this point, and that made me even happier that I was getting this taken care of right away. The funny part is that I felt better after just a few weeks than I did even before the accident. I see why my doctor has regular appointments with his own chiropractor, and I am going to follow suit!
